"In 2013, 77 percent of adults from families in the top income quartile earned at least a bachelor's degree by age 24, up from 40 percent in 1970, according to a report from the University of Pennsylvania's Alliance for Higher Education and Democracy and the Pell Institute for the Study of Opportunity in Higher Education. In contrast, only 9 percent of adults from the lowest income bracket earned a bachelor's degree in 2013, up from 6 percent in 1970." ~ U.S. News & World Report, 2015.
Educational attainment should be a right of every student in America. Yet often because of financial hardship, it is a privilege for a select few. The Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority National Education Fund, Inc. (NEF) seeks to remove barriers for those who are most deserving by providing access to scholarships, leadership development and community enhancement programs. NEF is dedicated to helping each person achieve his or her dreams by opening the doors to the future.
"I will always be grateful to NEF for helping me pursue an Ivy League Education. Scholarships like NEF are transforming the world one bright student at a time."
